After stopping and starting so many journals over the years,I finally finished one.  I love the moleskine sketch journal because it takes paint and markers and abuse so well.  Here's the cover:


10 pages under the cut:
I made a pocket from one page to stash things
the page on the left has a transparencyI use stickers and stencils in addition to my drawingsthis is a list of things in my journalthe pocket contains an artist trading cardthe little book that won't close

my own moleskines tend to get filled with lists and mind maps and the occassional sketch. glad to see others putting them to more visually appealing uses!

aaaand. may i suggest photocopying a selection of pages from your lil art journo to make into a fantabulous zine?
or one day when i get a book deal to do something on art journals, would you be one of my contributors ;) (see how i work in that positive thinking?)

if you are doing a zine and would like some of my pages in it, sure! As for a book deal,funny, I was thinking the same thing....you get a book deal,I would so be honored to contribute to it because I totally dig your stuff. And should I publish a book someday, I'd ask you to be in it big time. Deal? I like the way you think. I think maybe we should pursue a book anyway...really!

Love the Ribbonf

I have to know...how did you get the ribbon all those colors. The gray one is so boring, I'd love to jazz mine up a bit.

I replaced the boring gray ribbon. I just cut it off, leaving about a half an inch and sewed the bright ribbon to that "stub".

beautiful!
what kind of media do you use for your coloring? it's sometimes difficult for me to find markers/paints that stick to the paper well.

thank you! I just use that cheap set of markers that Michael's or Hobby Lobby sells for $19.99. I love those kids' blo pens too!
